As someone who grew up in the white evangelical church, it’s been fascinating seeing the literal embodiment of everything I was taught a evil, be worshipped by evangelicals

I think evangelicals are pharisees

I grew up Catholic and took it very seriously
I did quite a bit of Biblical scholarship and am frustrated, but not surprised, to see so many aspects of the church succumb to the influence of an anti-christ
