Have to cash in on those turnovers, we missed or turned the ball over right after.

Live by the 3 die by the 3.

no inside out movement from state and when we passed to a shooter they were all over them before they could shoot or even blocked it.

I'm a little tired of the switching, I watched Auburn just dribble move to get the switch they wanted then score, several times.

and they looked like past teams at time not stopping the ball and leading to dunks.

If you can't stop them from making shot you better make your shots

also not technical fouls this game (i turned in off, so don't think there was one).

can we sign a player of a team mid season, the white boy from VCU

Seemed like we switched less last night. Hedged some screens that I haven’t seen us do earlier in the year. Doubling the post led to back to back open 3s that they knocked down. Somebody smarter than me will have to tell me if we aren’t rotating quick enough, guys are missing assignments, or the other team has just figured out what we’re doing and exploiting it. Or all of the above.

I didn't get it. I just figured it was a reference to the lateness of the game

PI!!!1 (and Pomeroy!1)

https://packinsider.com/2025/12/04/based-on-the-data-nc-state-basketball-is-one-of-the-most-unlucky-programs-in-the-country/

Quote :
"KenPom looks at every game the team has played. Then, using his adjusted efficiency margins (AdjOE/AdjDE), he calculates the expected win probability in each game. For every close game (especially one-possession games in the last few minutes), he figures out roughly how often a team with their efficiency should win that specific game. He then compares the actual wins in those games to the expected wins.

If a team won more close games than expected ? positive Luck (they’ve been lucky)
If they lost more close games than expected ? negative Luck (they’ve been unlucky)

So where does NC State slot in here? Well, they are one of the most unlucky teams in the country.

They rank 318th out of 365 teams, with a luck rating of -.092."

Big game against UNCA tomorrow. State has lost 2 in a row and 3 of 4. UNCA meanwhile has won 2 in a row including a win over common opponent UNCG.

This game has huge implications for the state championship. Both teams are 2-0 against in-state opponents. NC State has 2 technical fouls in in-state games this year, something we’ve discussed as being a key to victory for our Pack. I hope we see that same edge in this rivalry game. UNCA has an enrollment of around 3000 while NC State’s is closer to 40000. Roughly 13x as many students. Which means Coach Will Wade has a lot of choices when it comes filling out his roster. UNCA is limited with its lower enrollment. While not a one for one calculation, I think it’s fair to say that have a larger pool of students to select from has led to the talent discrepancy State should have over Asheville.

When it comes to common opponents, Asheville beat UNCG by 5. We beat UNCG by 46. But let’s pump the brakes before predicting a 41 point Wolfpack victory. You gotta throw the record books out when in-state rivals meet up. Emotions should be high in this one. My advanced projection model has this has a 97-56 Wolfpack win.

^^ this is college basketball stats 101. Negative luck rating is covered in the 300 level courses. Maybe by February we’ll be that far in our studies!

^ great answer coach woody!

Dw acc preseason player of the year who spends most of the first half on the bench and barely shoots

Copeland is my favorite player on this team, which greatly surprises me

I'm behind but just saw DW pass up an open 3, Copeland then made an open 3

DW is a mystery to me.

Q is the engine of the offense and he can make stuff happen and he can be fun. But he kinda has a proven history of what he is and if he’s our offensive engine/bus driver/whatever I’m not sure that’s the sign of a good team.

Also struggling with UNCA isn’t the sign of a good team. Lots of signs that this isn’t a good team.

Yeah this is a performance that would get Keatts raked over the coals.

Also 16 minutes for Breed so far? Lol that's all i needed to see. Wade is not a good coach

[Edited on December 6, 2025 at 3:00 PM. Reason : Lol he's going to hit 20 minutes this game]

Feels like Wade is just trying all kinds of stuff. Scottie starting. Deng playing early in the game after sitting on the bench for the past couple games. Breed getting lots of minutes. McNeil getting less. Kind of a desperation attempt to send a message…

I’m not saying Wade isn’t a good coach. But there’s just something off with the roster. It’s partly a talent issue. Which is disappointing given the increased investment…this is what increased investment gets us? But also the talent is there is just not meshing yet or something is just off.

Yeah it's gonna be funny when the money dries up after this year because of these results. A couple big donors are gonna be like "nah we're good" after watching wade just light stacks of cash on fire

I didn’t watch much of this game but…shoot over 60% in the second half, nearly 50% for the game and still only beat a shitty UNCA team by 12. That’s bad.

Breed is averaging almost as many fouls as he is points per game. And his minutes are continuing to go up!

I feel like I'm Frank Grimes here.
