^I don't think the hate is that amazing given his on-pitch comments in 2010. None of Rooney's teammates reacted that way. Rooney's a douche, and his antics on and off field seem to confirm that, whereas Messi seems like a nice guy.

Wonder if wazza31 reads the Argentine papers and listens to the media there? He must to definitively say Messi doesn't get the same shit as Rooney.Messi and Rooney are both paid about equal. And more than Ronaldo. That blows my mind.[Edited on June 16, 2014 at 7:26 AM. Reason : User]

I dunno...Rooney had a pretty sweet assist in the Italy gamehowever, I really can't recall him accomplishing much in World Cups/Euros of years past
6/16/2014 9:01:40 AM
Here is the thing with Rooney, in qualifiers he does amazing. Scores all over the place and does a great job. When it comes to matches that counts, he doesn't score that often. Aside from Gerrard and Lampard though, he is prob the most senior player on the team. The rest of the team is fairly young and inexperienced so even if he isn't actively scoring goals he is still giving direction on the pitch.
6/16/2014 9:08:37 AM
Guys, I'm trying to troll wazza here if you'd please just step aside.
6/16/2014 9:15:31 AM
If Sterling is the next big thing for England he better watch it. England loves a scapegoat, and after Rooney Sterling is next on the list.
6/16/2014 9:26:50 AM
so damn good.
6/16/2014 9:27:54 AM
It's early but what are everybody's favorite goals so far?Gotta think ^ is an easy leader so far. I liked Sturridge's goal for the crisp passing and that Swiss goal just for the excitement factor.
6/16/2014 10:32:19 AM
That and the Costa Rica header are my favorites so far. Sterling had everyone fooled for 10 seconds but my had that gone in it would have been my favorite by far.
6/16/2014 10:48:02 AM
All of the CBs for Germany. I always forget Alaba is Austrian...
6/16/2014 10:57:11 AM
So I am assuming it would be in our best interest for Germany to win today assuming that we win? I think if we dont get the 3 against Ghana we are pretty much out unless Germany wins the other two and sandbags the game against us. I believe our most likely path through is win today, draw portugal, then hope Germany has already topped the group and we can salvage a draw against their B group.
6/16/2014 11:11:53 AM
Yeah, that seems like the plan.On the other hand, facing a Portugal team desperate for 3 against us will be just as dangerous as a German team that hasn't locked up advancement. We're also assuming Portugal/Germany both get 3 from the Ghana games which I just don't think will happen. Bottom line is if we don't win tonight, we sure as shit better not lose.[Edited on June 16, 2014 at 11:32 AM. Reason : .]
6/16/2014 11:32:35 AM
Yeah a loss tonight pretty much seals our fate already which will be disappointing with all the build up. I dont expect us to advance myself, but I expect to go into the portugal game still thinking its possible.
6/16/2014 11:33:58 AM
I'm hoping for a German tie and US win today. That way we will be top of the group and hopefully we can steal a win, or at least tie our second game to get to 4 points. Then we can go from there.
6/16/2014 11:48:00 AM
that is a fucking red card
6/16/2014 12:11:28 PM
nani looks like shit so far. for some reason portugal just look disinterested in this game.
6/16/2014 12:15:06 PM
yeah Portugal looks terrible.
6/16/2014 12:31:43 PM
Portugal defense is atrocious. Our game with them may have 10 goals combined.
6/16/2014 12:32:40 PM
stream?

6/16/2014 12:34:46 PM

6/16/2014 12:36:54 PM
dumbest red card ever
6/16/2014 12:38:14 PM
what a moron.
6/16/2014 12:38:16 PM

6/16/2014 12:38:36 PM
good for us though
6/16/2014 12:38:39 PM
6/16/2014 12:39:35 PM
portugal are self destructing. we would have a good chance of beating them if they play like this. i guess it wasnt a fluke that they had to play in the european playoffs just to get in.
6/16/2014 12:39:49 PM
now if we can just get a red for CR7.
6/16/2014 12:40:38 PM
Not a red but I will take it!
6/16/2014 12:40:42 PM
lol dude he leaned over and headbutted him
6/16/2014 12:41:40 PM
6/16/2014 12:47:17 PM
this GD could be clutch as hell for us.
6/16/2014 12:47:54 PM
Germans playing Portugal like Pinehurst No 2.
6/16/2014 12:49:13 PM
Keep scoring Germany!
6/16/2014 12:49:26 PM
^^^yup, all we would have to do is beat ghana, tie portugal, and not get destroyed by germany. plus you would think germany would have a place pretty much clinched by the time they played us so there is no telling what kind of team they would put out.[Edited on June 16, 2014 at 12:50 PM. There's always at least one team that massively underachieves (Italy and France 2010 come to mind). Hopefully that is Portugal this year.
6/16/2014 12:55:05 PM
^Portugal 2002
6/16/2014 1:01:40 PM
Portugal is on the path to self destruction, and it very well could lead into a hangover loss against us in Manaus. I'll be sure to do my part (leave Wednesday, w00t!). They do not look intimidating at all right now, and Ronaldo, per usual is a non factor in this cup for his country. There are two types of responses to this kind of loss. A revenge win or complete implosion. I'm hoping for the latter.
6/16/2014 1:05:17 PM
Wow I did't expect Portugal to get wrecked like this. I guess I was wrong about them.
6/16/2014 1:10:33 PM
Manchester United's Robben lookin' pretty good out there, taking the ball off his own teammates
6/16/2014 1:12:30 PM
In his defense, it was a nice recovery to break up the scoring chance..
6/16/2014 1:16:13 PM
No Pepe against us for Portugal will be huge[Edited on June 16, 2014 at 1:25 PM. Reason : Coentrao hurt too!]
6/16/2014 1:17:59 PM
6/16/2014 1:20:57 PM
Portugal had terrible body language on the field even before the score got out of hand...screaming and gesturing at each other after a mistake and what not. Bodes well for us, I'd say.
6/16/2014 1:27:24 PM
portugal sucks.....
6/16/2014 1:38:31 PM
i have never seen a ref physically push player back more than this guy.
6/16/2014 1:43:22 PM
^ thought the same thing. He did it after the penalty too.
6/16/2014 1:47:40 PM
Few things make me happier than a desparate Ronaldo being completely irrelevant at the World Cup.
