I used it some what successfully 5 years ago in California. Was basically totally useless in last 4 years, but could have just been Florida. Haven't tried it in the great state of NC.

You can argue the technical merits of teachers all day long, but regardless of their background, we can all agree that compared to most other four year degreed jobs out there, they are wholly underpaid. And yea they get a few months of the year off, as we’ve seen here, they don’t get paid for those two years. You can also argue budgeting, etc, but he’s explained what happened.Justin is your wife a teacher as well?

We were able to eke out enough to cover bills, so she took it down. Sorry I haven't posted about it in a bit... working on putting out several other fires on the side. (new coolant leak in my car... it went from fine 2 days ago to going through several full containers in a few minutes.)
8/19/2026 5:37:22 PM
Duct tape didn't hold on a hot and pressurized coolant hose?
8/19/2026 6:20:48 PM
I think it's probably the best thing to quit busting his chops.Nobody got scammed. Can we agree on that?
8/19/2026 7:12:43 PM
I can agree. But I don't think duct tape is an appropriate repair for a coolant hose leak as I attempted to point out on the previous page before the current situation manifested.
8/19/2026 7:45:57 PM
You are absolutely right it's not a proper fix. I used the duct tape as a stopgap measure so I could test if that was the issue, and it was. This is how the duct tape held up for 2/3 days of just a couple of test drives: And this is the new part nice and snug in its new home:
8/19/2026 8:26:29 PM
I think tape is fine as an initial boundary layer and sealer, but you need metal worm gear clamps to resist the expansion of a pressurized hose. I fixed a split main water supply line to the house this way until I could get a new line installed, and I could still use water normally all along. The clamps are dirt cheap and good to have on hand. Only needs a screwdriver.Glad you now have a permanent fix.

Easiest way to fix a leak
8/19/2026 9:10:14 PM
LOL how there's already a huge bulge on the tape before the camera cuts away.Phil Swift, you S.O.B.!!!
