Neocon and Israel want let us wait that long.

Israel hit them today last night, and Iran fires at our based today and hit some planes at the Suadi base, so i say that "gives them the excuse"

they also have 50K troops around that area already. Marines should be there today if not already

I guess I'm a little confused about what you're trying to show?

The first time you posted returns, I thought maybe it was a humble brag about 12-month and since inception returns since those were still pretty good.

Quarterly returns is kind of an odd way to look at long-term investments.

And is "since inception" meaning the inception of your account, or the inception of your chosen investment fund? And is that an average annual return since inception, or a total return? I know for sure that's not a total return on Vanguard Growth since the fund's inception.

I'm not in any way defending the Trump economy. But I've got no better option than long-term investment in U.S. stocks. Apparently even when we have a lunatic at the helm. . .

Growth stocks have been on a tear for a long time, but sometimes value stocks rotate into the lead. You might be picking a style preference without realizing it.

If this is the first negative you have ever seen, you're doing great. You should expect more quarterly negatives, and even negative years in your investing lifetime.

I would say that I hope that works out for you, but since I didn't sell today [actually bought in the 401(k) since it's payday], I'm not sure I really hope that.

You putting that $114K all in on DJT?!

This shit is bananas. Every hint of the possibility of good news keeps driving things higher. Bad news has little or no effect.

The Coz, why don’t you invest in VT/VXUS, again?

Home country bias.

The U.S. is the largest investable market.

The largest publicly-traded U.S. companies are multinational corporations who derive a large percentage of their income from foreign markets already.

Don't want to deal with foreign exchange fluctuations.

Increasing correlation between U.S. and International stock markets in recent years during major world events.

Misplaced belief in American fundamentals and free markets.

But there are endless arguments to be read and entertained on U.S. vs. International on investment-focused forums, so I'm not trying to sway anybody to my likely flawed way of thinking. It has worked out well over my investing lifetime so far, but that's likely more a quirk of timing than anything based on fundamentals. I can admit that. In the past two decades, International investments would have been a drag on returns, but we may be seeing reversion to the mean and a rotation away from U.S. outperformance.

Compare 1, 2, 5, and 10-year returns between VTI and VXUS, but historical performance is not a predictor of future returns.

As for VT vs. a manually managed VTI / VXUS split, you might find the below of interest:

https://www.mymoneyblog.com/advantages-of-owning-vanguard-total-us-and-total-international-stocks-etfs-separately.html

VT and VTI + VXUS are perfectly valid investment vehicles, and may well outperform VTI or VOO alone in the next decade or so. TBD. Don't agonize about trying to pick the single best future option, because no one really knows. Pick something that's good enough and stick with it.

I couldn't write it out nearly as well as you have, but I've basically kind of operated with the same kind of thoughts as you with my relatively insignificant savings over the last few years. But I haven't really done VTI, I bought like 2-3 and then sold them later on, and then just played around with random stocks I thought seemed good and should be higher, and also companies that I didn't like think were completely evil.

But now I need a more concrete vision I guess. I also kind of just want to kiss the bull's nuts and go QQQ. I know that makes no sense because QQQ is NASDAQ and the bull's nuts are NYSE but whatever. I guess you could say the nuts spiritually belong to any investor. Wait, do they kiss the nuts. No way, right? Cause thousands of people kissing the same thing would be crazy. Okay, they rub them. I see. That makes more sense.

QQQ has obviously been very good. Tech stocks may not continue to outperform, but then again, they may. . .

I have decided to settle for "good enough" and to focus on savings / investment rate and time in the market.

Jumping in and out of stuff is really a game which is likely going to give you poorer long-term results.
