The main purpose of the original EUPHALO was, of course, for every user from The Wolf Web, a North Carolina State University (but not affiliated with the university itself) message board, to post at least once. In other words, a thread where EPIC PADDING could occur. Where thoughts could be shared. Where dreams could come to fruition, and girls could be stalked. A thread where basically anything goes. Repetition of internet memes, and basically anything, of course, was strongly encouraged. A sort of "minimalist" posting style was developed for the purpose of "epic padding."

Eventually, EUPHALO reached 1000 pages, and at the time, was the second longest thread on The Wolf Web. Not even 100 pages later, the epic movement came to a (what some would call premature) end. Many users had been calling for the end of EUPHALO, a thread they considered to be a mere trite exercise in pointless padding. Finally, they got their wish - an epic deletion was initiated by the TWW moderator marko around midnight on March 6th, 2008 - reportedly with the reasoning to "see what the reaction would be." The movement that ReceiveDeath and team EUPHALO had worked so hard to build up was now gone.
