Red shirting still counts against scholarship limits

My super serious guess is that Wilkins bails and Darrion Williams is scared off because Wade is going to play Copeland over him.

I Wilkins practicing with the team now?

I'm still not totally familiar with all the guys, but I don't recall seeing him in any of the practice pics so far.

I'm thinking this Matt Able guy might be pretty good

"Earning the MVP award from Lillard at the adidas camp among 20 different high-level college players was the culmination of a wild summer for Able. After winning a state championship with Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Sagemont Prep and committing to the Pack, he hit big shots with Rod Wave Elite in Chicago, won the three-point contest at the Iverson Classic, went to the U19 USA Basketball tryouts, participated in camps put on by Lillard, Chris Paul and Jayson Tatum before cooking at the Olin Simplis runs."

Market Titus (club trillion) used to rt each fall all the CBB teams bragging about their S&C gains. Long story short, glad they're working out but, until told otherwise, I assume every other team is working out pretty hard too.

Y'all, I posted those quotes because the numbers are hilariously wrong, not to show how hard they're working.

A 772 lb average deadlift is like world championship level powerlifting given the average weight of a college basketball player.

LOL, do y'all even lift?

I deadlift 772 lbs in my sleep

Also these strength increases he's bragging about, it's individual increases of the guys he recruited, so he recruited a bunch of weak babies and made them less weak. Congrats? Like there are only 2 guys returning from last year and one was a walk on who will never play. But sure it's great that your admitting that you signed a bunch of guys who were little shrimps. A couple of these guys are with you last year. Why didn't they already max out physically??? Why didn't you push them harder last off-season???

[Edited on September 23, 2025 at 5:45 PM. Reason : Like this is the dumbest shit for a basketball coach to talk about, much less brag about]

Ok now I’m getting worried we’ve spent too much time lifting weights and not enough time practicing actual basketball.

And yeah, sorry the dead lifting numbers went way over my head.

Was this article written using speech to text? Garbage content.
Back when I took weight training in high school, the basketball players wouldn't participate in bench press because it would throw off their jump shot. Either we will be running laps around our opponents hitting layups all season, or we won't be able to throw a ball and hit the ocean.

Remember when Andrew Brackman got swole and then became a completely useless basketball player instead of a stretch 4 who could shoot?

How well did that work out for him? Please don't research this and look up his 7 figure signing bonus from the Yankees

i think that's because a ton of people at the lower levels of the sport just repeat the same shit they heard when they were kids. I knew a guy in HS in the early aughts who swore by that despite the weight coach (who was doing some cutting edge stuff for us at the time) informing him otherwise. I think it is has widely been considered a myth at the upper levels of the sport for years now and just took time to percolate. The 90s Bulls, most notably Jordan, became well known for lifting (including bench press) even on game day.

https://gopack.com/news/2025/10/10/mens-basketball-wolfpack-sports-network-announces-chucky-brown-as-mbb-radio-analyst

Quote :
"Former NC State men's basketball player Chucky Brown will serve as color analyst for all men's basketball games on the Wolfpack Sports Network starting with the coming 2025-26 season.

Brown replaces Tony Haynes who had served as the men's basketball analyst - and a variety of other roles with the Wolfpack Sports Network since 1998 - and announced earlier this year that he would be retiring at the conclusion of the 2025 football season.

"I'm incredibly thankful for this opportunity," Brown said. "It was an honor to represent NC State as a player, and I'm humbled to now have the chance to return to a program and university that mean so much to me. I'm excited to work alongside Matt Chazanow and the rest of the fantastic Wolfpack Sports Network crew as the men's basketball program begins an exciting new era under Will Wade."

Brown was a four-year lettermen at NC State who played in 128 career games from 1985-89. In his four years with the Wolfpack, NC State went to the NCAA Tournament all four seasons and won the 1987 ACC Tournament Championship as well as finishing first in the 1989 ACC regular season.

Brown scored 1,357 career points, a total that still ranks 25th in school history, and shot 55.7 percent from the field in his NC State career, a mark that is fourth all-time in the program record book.

He averaged 16.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game as a senior when he was an All-ACC First Team selection.

Brown still holds the school record for minutes played in a game when he played 59 out of a possible 60 minutes in the Pack's four overtime victory over Wake Forest on March 4, 1989. Brown scored a career-high 34 points in the win as the victory clinched the ACC regular season title for the Pack.

Brown was the 43rd overall selection in the 1989 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and played 13 years in the NBA. He won an NBA title in 1995 as a member of the Houston Rockets. "

Unless I'm missing something, this men/women double header exhibition thing in Greensboro is gonna be a bit of a flop as far as ticket sales go. The prices they're asking seem and most of the seats are still available online. I keep checking to see if the prices will come down, but they still want $92 bucks a pop to sit in the top row of the LL at the baseline. The cheapest you can do is $38 for some nosebleeds.
