yes that's true and was known by both sides prior to the "ceasefire" being signed. there are 3 remaining hostage bodies that haven't been returned. whether those 3 are because hamas doesn't know where they are or they're just continuing to use them as leverage, idk and frankly it doesn't matter much (to me. i'm sure it does to the families)

the larger point is that this is all narrative warfare. propagandists like oepii can scream zionazis broke the ceasefire, but hamas isn't holding up their side either. the ceasefire says "Within 72 hours of Israel publicly accepting this agreement, all hostages, alive and deceased, will be returned." and this narrative warfare thing has been one of the main fronts this entire time. so who gives a shit. it's war. of course shit like this is gonna happen on both sides. so who gives a fuck, other than smooth brained culture war victims.

that's why instead of war vs ceasefires, we should be aiming for PEACE and nothing less. but one side has never once committed to peace. inshallah that will change in our lifetimes. but the spell is gonna have to break on the arab/muslim/progressive/maga world and they stop thinking jews are the root of all evil. they're people just like everybody else, not some magic embodiment of your metaphysical failings.

I don't think most progressives think jews are the root of all evil. Just that the State of Israel and the IDF is pretty evil. It has nothing to do with culture or religion. I really don't understand why you arrogantly refuse to understand that.

i refuse to "understand" it because it's not true. you might be convinced it's true, but it's not. over the last year+ i've tried to present a set of facts that i think y'all are missing in hopes that it would change some minds or at least get y'all to consider the possibility that maybe there was more to all this than the perspectives that have taken root in your political tribes, but it's clear many of y'all have just dug in and not much i can do about it. people often believe things based less on facts and more on emotion and identity. a shame, but after all we're only humans.

It's worrying that you keep using "truth" and "fact" for a morals (or at best legal) based subject.

But also your rigorous base of understanding might need work if it leads to the worst possible conclusion of tww'ers that you know basically nothing about and that goes against their stated beliefs and opinions (not even counting the Jewish people that consider the efforts in Gaza to be a genocide, are they antisemitic or just stupid?). Meanwhile, some of the most public figures in the world take huge public and/or impactful actions that sure make many of us come to pretty bad conclusions, and yet you find every opportunity to defend them. I wonder what would happen if you gave the same good faith treatment to the rest of us.

I think you are just as unwilling to abandon your priors as any of us. It's funny folks like to yell at TGL for never saying he is wrong but I'm not sure anyone on this website says we're wrong very often. Plenty of us talk about how we were wrong in the past but I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone's mind change on here, I don't know I guess this paragraph is off topic.

For the record I definitely think you are far more well read than me, and more knowledgeable on the subject but I think all that knowledge makes you overconfident in your moral judgments.
