lol, we watched Sleepaway Camp last year. That ending was a doozy. I saw last night that there's a part 2 and 3.We just watched Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2. Pretty good for a cheesy 80s teen horror movie.
10/8/2025 3:33:01 PM
oh yeah I hear that one is better than Prom Night 1and yeah the ending of Sleepaway Camp is like... is this okay?I mean, I know it's not supposed to be okay but... god damn that's fucked up 3 or 4 different ways[Edited on October 8, 2025 at 11:36 PM. Reason : -]

How was VHS Halloween? I’ve liked the series except for Viral. I am furloughed until Congress passes a budget, so although I am not watching a horror movie every day of October, I am doing a few here and there. Just watched the Wolf of Snow Hollow last night. Movie was pretty decent up until the ending, which ruined the entire movie.
10/14/2025 1:01:02 PM
VHS Halloween was great fun (except for one segment)I really enjoyed itit's pretty gross and dark, though
10/14/2025 1:13:14 PM
I'm scared to play any kind of tape tech anymore because the last 2 VHS tapes I tried were eaten by (2 separate) VCRsalso, why did every tape deck I ever owned fail, as well as pretty much all of the VHS players?oh, because it's cheap tech, right

I will check my collection and see if I have it.I'm thinking tonight might be House of the Devil. Seen that?
10/21/2025 3:22:03 PM
No...i generally don't watch horror movies. Don't see the allure of being frightened while watching something. I can get into stuff like weapons, but i don't think of that as a horror movie in the same sense as a conjuring, or other movies like that. Frankly i pretty much only enjoy documentaries and thought provoking pieces. Horror, super hero, romcoms, most action, childrens movies, etc I tend to stay away from. Even contemporary comedies kinda suck for the most part
10/21/2025 3:42:59 PM
I remember watching House of the Devil a while back when I got the DVD (ebay lot purchase). I remember being optimistic going in, but being pretty underwhelmed. But I'd be curious to know what you think. I may pull the DVD back-out.
10/21/2025 4:40:01 PM
I think it's a good homage to 80s films in the Satanic cult genre. It does a lot to build tension and then concludes in a way that is predictable but also over-the-top. It's not something I'd rewatch a lot but I'd watch it with someone who hasn't seen it. It's unique in that it doesn't pull it's punches, if you get what I'm saying.^^ I think horror is a genre where people are still allowed to innovate. You can make a horror film and not have to earn a billion dollars to get it made. [Edited on October 21, 2025 at 5:36 PM. Reason : horror is an expansive genre and includes all kinds of sub-genres and mashups ]

I recently watched 1988's Lair of the White Worm (a Bram Stoker novel). I wasn't familiar with British director Ken Russell, but it was a pretty interesting movie. Not great, but done well and interesting. And it had a young Hugh Grant in it. I'm going to check out Russell's Altered State too.
10/24/2025 3:16:49 PM
wait the same Ken Russell who directed The Devils?have you seen that movie? it's his only work I've seen and it is fucking bonkersI gotta watch this White Worm onehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Devils_(film)

Bitter Feast | Scooby-Doo (Live action, 2002)We did a double feature because we're going to Woods of Terror tonight and probably won't get to watch anything. Also, Bitter Feast left a bad taste in our mouths so we needed a shot of sugar a la Scooby-Doo. Bitter Feast is like The Menu if nobody was likeable and there was hardly anybody in the film. When the most likeable character is played by Larry Fesenden you should probably pause for a moment and consider some re-writes. It's campy food/torture porn for terminally bitter New Yorkers except there's nothing fun about it. It managed to make Mario Batali look sympathetic.

From dusk til dawn?Never seent it but heard tarantino wrote a part were salma hayek pours liquid into his mouth from her feet or something like that
10/29/2025 1:42:23 AM
yes I'm convinced that Tarantino writes movies so he can indulge his foot fetish and say the n-word
10/29/2025 9:55:51 AM
-"Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives" is one of the better jason movies.-"The Howling 2" is quite a departure from the first one. It was okay, had some cool scenes, but a mediocre story and terrrible acting (but it does has Christopher Lee)-"Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" is nostalgic, but really pretty boring. And those kids are constantly threatening each other with their fists.
