Summer.

Just in general. In that when you are a [younger] teen and you don't have school over the summer, you typically don't have an expectation to have a summer job. So you can just... enjoy it. Stay up late, have sleepovers in the middle of the week, go swimming, hang around at the mall, whatever. Even when I was 17 and had a part time job over the summer, I still had tons of time to do whatever.

I think summer between my junior and senior years of high school was the last "kid" summer I had. After that, I either had a full time job I was working or was taking summer session classes at NCSU.

^Yep, I remember reading the Starr Report on AOL, probably didn't say much at dinner that night. Awkward subject matter.

Marcy Playground - "Sex and Candy"

Natalie Imbruglia - "Torn"

Method Man - "Judgement Day"

Tom Green - "The Bum Bum Song"

Weird Al Yankovic - "It's All About the Pentiums"

I remember in 7th grade there were a duke unc game where the winning team was down like 20 with leas than 5 minutes to go. I think it was unc coming back to beat duke

Depends on how old you are. Duke pulled off a one minute miracle by coming back from 10 points down in the final minute and beating Maryland in OT in the early 2000s. In 2005 Carolina came back from 9 points down against Duke with 3 minutes left during the Sean May and JJ Redick years. I was in the student section for that game.

Duke's miracle minute is one of the craziest moments I've seen in college basketball. Here's a YouTube clip with Jay Williams' take: https://youtu.be/ENo3spJaJa4?si=QL31n6-Usz-QaOfX

The best game I remember from that era was a triple overtime game between Wake and UNC at the Dean Dome. Wake had Chris Paul and they edged us, 119-114. It was Roy's first season as head coach and we had McCants, Felton, and May.

@clawai after reading this thread, what are 5 things from between 1993-2005 that aren't listed?

Five things from 1993-2005 not yet listed in this thread:

1. Napster/Limewire/Kazaa -- waiting 45 minutes to download one song, getting a mislabeled track with static at the end, and giving your family computer seventeen viruses. The pirate radio of a generation.

2. Motorola Razr -- the flip phone that was also a status symbol. Thin as a credit card, satisfying snap-close. Having a Razr meant you had arrived. Having a Sidekick meant you were on a different level entirely.

3. AIM Away Messages -- the passive-aggressive art form of a generation. Song lyrics directed at one specific person. Inside jokes nobody else understood. The carefully calibrated performance of being offline but still available to the right people.

4. Myspace Top 8 -- ranking your friends publicly and the nuclear-grade social drama it caused. Custom HTML profiles with auto-playing music that crashed your browser. Tom was everyone's first friend.

5. Halo 2 multiplayer / LAN parties -- hauling CRT TVs to basements, getting screamed at by 12-year-olds through Xbox Live headsets before that was a cultural phenomenon. The peak before matchmaking became algorithmic.
